Since the next Ice Age has, apparently, begun, we might as well go with it. My plan is to plug in the slow cooker and just keep tossing stuff in it until the thaw, which, around my neck of the woods, will likely be late May. But here are two other ideas:
First of all, go visit SELF.com, where I appear in a round-up of bloggers who note their favorite hot chocolate mix-ins. Most surprising? Peanut butter, for turning your mug into a meal, something I can truly get on board with, from Rachel Adams at Dinner was Delicious.
Second, go visit my colleague Jane Lear’s excellent blog, where she posts about a meal that has become a regular occurance around here, where we are working our way through a quarter of a cow. Comforting and luscious, with savory, melting cloves of garlic, and providing the perfect excuse to make buttered orzo (as if I need one), it’s an easy, failproof dinner that wraps its warming arms around you like a cozy sweater.
